Accidents happen and marble can experience problems with wear, etching, improper cleaning agents, scratches, or loss of shine. Restoring marble regardless of floor, vanity's, shower etc. may require a "3 phase procedure" to effectively restore the surface. The 3 phases are grinding, honing & polishing. This procedure is guaranteed to remove etching, deep scratches, excessive wear and dulling. Tiles with "high edges" or lippage, may need to be ground down before being polished to its intended finish. We use species specific sealers to enhance & bring out every detail in the marble. Projects requiring chip & crack repair we use a variety of adhesives and filling additives to fill and fix and type of damage to the marble.
Honed Marble Finish: Honed marble has a soft matte finish & is easier to maintain. However a honed finish will scratch easier because its lower on the grit scale "200-400 grit" than a polished finish.
Polished Marble Finish: polished marble has a crystal clear mirror like finish. A Polished marble are susceptible to etch marks & water spots however they resist scratching & staining more affectively.
